MASP Artisan House is a craft house where talented young people with special needs and young people who are in difficulty work. The motivation behind the opening of this initiative lies in the belief that every individual has talents that can and should be discovered and appreciated, regardless of the situations that these people are facing.
In 2019 the social enterprise MASP Artisan House was created, a craft house, in witch we have seven girls with various diagnoses, such as Down syndrome, ASD and hearing problems, working. Essentially, the girls produce textile products that are sold in our Center, in four stores in Almatys, through online sales and at small craft markets.
Our girls are very good at their work and have very high motivation. Many of the products are made using recycling materials, such as waste from the production of leather shoes, old jeans or second-hand ties and billboards. Using these otherwise unused materials, they make bags of various shapes and sizes, cases, laptop covers, fanny packs and shopping bags. By purchasing these products, you can support the social enterprise MASP Artisan House and the MASP Association!
We can make different products for companies who place orders for their employees. Many of these are made using different recycled materials, such as billboards, remnants of the production of leather shoes, jeans or used ties. This is a list of products that we have already made for different companies:
In addition, the orders can be personalized, and we will prepare any model with the printed logo you want!
Children with special needs who attend professional courses at the MASP Artisan House laboratory produce fabric, felt, and wooden products. Currently, our products are sold in three stores in Almaty, as well as online and at small craft markets. We now think that it would be a good time to also open a showroom of our products in our Centre. With a showroom, we will be able to permanently show the entire range of products we produce.
In this «Craft Boutique» everyone will be able to see and buy our products, and we would also like to involve other local Associations working with children and young people with special needs, inviting them to also present their products for sale.
We thought that two people could take care of the sale: the mother of a child with a severe disability who attends our Centre, and a girl with Down syndrome who also participates in other activities. In addition to increasing sales volume, the «Craft Boutique» will offer the opportunity to open new jobs for people in difficulty.
