From December 11 to 24, a second food collection was held on the occasion of the New Year, entitled “Let's Make a Concrete Gesture Together.” These were two weeks of “generosity”, “meetings” and “solidarity”.
Today we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in this simple yet important initiative by donating food or money. Thank you to people such as our friends or parents of children who attend our centre, employees of small and large organizations, students of academic groups and universities. It was a real gift for us to see how such different people share one desire that unites us: to be able to help those who are most in need.
In particular, we want to share with you an initiative that we find particularly interesting. Students from High Tech Academy held a sale on the crafts they had made over the previous months and all proceeds were donated to support the initiative to purchase food. In addition to the significant help that was donated, we found this initiative especially beautiful. Primary and secondary school students will be able to feel that their time, their creativity, their dedication can contribute to the achievement of a great goal, can help benefit those who face more difficult situations. This is certainly something important and of great educational value, and it seems to us to be an example for everyone. Therefore, we give thanks to these children and their teachers, and a sincere thanks to all those who participated and supported our initiative, because they helped us see once again that the human heart is huge and that the desire for Good surpasses all the difficulties and adversities that exist and that we see every day.
MASP employees and volunteers who help us have already begun distributing food to the families we accompany. We will continue to do this regularly with attention and joy, confident that in this work we are supported by many people who care about the welfare of those who are now in difficulty and, in general, about the general good of society.
